Mad Men-Inspired Engagement Pictures

Mad Men is not the best place to look for relationship advice, but style advice? That’s a whole different story! I love how many couples are being inspired by the glamour of the sixties and dressing up accordingly for their engagement pictures. The result is always so chic and sophisticated, especially with a modern twist. Here are some of my favorites!

Oh, the drama! I love the glamorous feel of this shoot, and it captures the feel of the Mad Men era perfectly. To get the look, wear a sparkly dress in a ’60s silhouette and style your hair in a chic bouffant, and have your fiance dress up in a white shirt, slacks, and a skinny tie. Banana Republic’s Mad Men collection makes finding outfits easier than ever. Scotch optional! Picture via Trent Bailey Photography.

Full-on glamorous isn’t the only way to channel fabulous sixties style. This look is a more modern take on the Mad Men look, and I love how elegant and relaxed this picture is. It makes me think of what the Kennedys might look like while on vacation in Florida–effortlessly beautiful, chic, and timeless! Picture via Our Labor of Love.

With all of the adorable retro-style swimsuits emerging in stores right now, I love the idea of working some waterside fun into your engagement shoot. A demure silhouette and cheery print are perfect for this look, and the result will be adorable! Picture via Elizabeth Messina.

One of my favorite things about sixties style? The make up. Long lashes, lots of eyeliner, and bright lips are the perfect flirty look for any engagement pictures, and of course, they’ll fit into a Mad Men theme just as well as a modern theme. Picture via Erin Lassahn.
