I spent the last two days downtown at Atlanta’s newest event venue, 200 Peachtree, working on our cover shoot for the next issue. Nope, this post is not about 200 Peachtree (lots more about them to come in the Summer/Fall 2010 issue of Occasions coming soon), but rather their neighbor The Ritz-Carlton in Downtown Atlanta, Ga. If you live in Metro Atlanta, but don’t go downtown all the time, it’s easy to forget that besides being a business mecca, downtown Atlanta is home to several event venues eager to serve local Atlantans, not just out-of-towners.
The Ritz-Carlton Downtown recently completed a multi-million dollar renovation which transformed the luxury hotel into something so chic, you just might expect to see Carrie Bradshaw and her three best gals sipping Cosmos in the new Lumen lounge. The renovation is the perfect blend of classy contemporary and southern hospitality and breathes new life back into this classic luxury Atlanta event venue.
Atlanta weddings at the Ritz-Carlton Downtown set the new standard in romantic elegance. Between their grand ballroom, plaza ballroom and Georgian room a girl’s got choices. And, based on the information from their website, the size of the event shouldn’t matter because they can accommodate seated receptions between 100 and 500 guests which is impressive and versatile if you ask me.
The decor, a departure from what you might expect at a typical luxury venue, is refreshingly unique. Between the three rooms, brilliant crystal chandeliers cast a shimmering light on the hand-applied, platinum, gilt-like walls of the rooms. The sophisticated palette of midnight, jewel-toned blue, and golden Champagne shades combined with a unique lighting feature makes it easy to match any color scheme you’ve chosen for you event.
Details like beveled-glass French doors, luminous chandeliers, a handsome marble bar and warm wood paneled walls, creating the perfect mix of contemporary décor with fine traditional style.
