Virtual Venue Tour: Montaluce Winery

Posted June 14th, 2010 by Heather Vreeland | 3 Comments - Post A Comment

For the past few weeks I’ve been staring at some really gorgeous pictures from a recent real wedding that took place at Montaluce Winery we’ll be featuring in the upcoming Summer/Fall 2010 issue.  I’ve got images of rolling hillsides, grapevines, Italian architecture and red, red wine dancing in my head so when Nancy Jo McDaniel of NJM Photography sent me the amazing images she recently took of the venue on a short trip to Dahlonega, I knew they’d be my next pick for our weekly virtual venue tour.

Montaluce Winery is just a hop, skip and a jump up GA 400 in Dahlonega, Ga. Known for the first U.S. gold rush, the area is also the cradle of Georgia’s many local wineries because the topography, elevation and long growing season creates an extraordinary climate well-suited for premium grape cultivation. It seems that with that kind of backdrop, the winery is also well-suited for weddings (and all special occasions) too.

Perched high on the hillside is the winery’s La Vigne Restaurant.  The architecture and environment look as though it was plucked out of the Tuscan landscape and transported to Georgia just for our convenience.  The menu for everyday dining and large groups is proudly crafted with local grown produce and honors the flavors of the region with different menus for each of the four seasons.
