The past couple of years have been huge for vintage and rustic styling in weddings and parties. The addition of items from the past seems to impart instant charm, nostalgia, and personality into the decor and overall feel of an event. What’s more, some items can even be found in your own grandparent’s attic or local thrift store so they’re easy to acquire.
One of my favorite pieces utilized in decor are vintage soda bottle crates. The interesting thing is that they can be found divided into squares to hold individual bottles, or rectangles to hold 6-packs. Each design gives you different opportunities to display party items in a unique way.
The individual compartments are the perfect size to hold things like paper cones filled with snacks, bottles of soda {of course} and/or wild flower arrangements, or dessert pops as seen above. For the dessert pops, just fill the bottom with craft foam and cover it with moss or shredded paper. The stick can be inserted into the foam and stand up straight for this adorable presentation.
Using the crates with larger compartments allows you to showcase larger items. Turn it on it’s side and stack jars filled with cupcakes or homemade jam, or set larger boxes of snacks such as popcorn, into the rectangle compartments.
All of these ideas are just the begining. I’m sure you can think of endless ways to use these rustic-vintage crates for your own special occasions!
