When looking through all of the real wedding submissions, there is always something different that catches my eye in each of them. Sometimes it’s the wedding dress, the invitation suite, the reception location or even the show-stealing ring bearer. For today’s feature, it was hands-down bride Christina’s smile. She radiates that “bridal glow” in all of the pictures, plain and simple. On top of her obvious beauty though, she and new hubby Sylvester also happened to throw a pretty purple wedding that we think you’ll enjoy. Check out all of the loveliness below captured by Ashleigh Taylor Photography.

Was there a specific theme or style? Simple and elegant’

What were your playful twists that made the event unique? We bought two “Jones Soda” bottles since our last name is/was Jones and took a few cute pictures which we used for our thank you cards.

Did you DIY any of the details? Yes, the Programs, Favors Tags, Menu’s, Place cards, invitations were designed by me and implemented by Angel Flores and flowers were arranged by Ramirez Wholesale Flowers and with help from friends and family we assembled them.

What was the most memorable moment? The first look. It was a “real” moment shared by just my husband and I. After spending months planning the perfect day, it was nice to have that intimate moment and to see the look on his face when he first saw me was priceless and to think, it was all caught on film.

Tell us about the food and desserts. The food was to die for. Everything was prepared to perfection. We had two entree’ served, Baseball cut sirloin steak lightly covered with bordelaise sauce with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes or chicken piccata also served with asparagus and garlic mashed potatoes. The salad was delicious. It was a pear salad with pears, butter lettuce, Gorgonzola and sweet onion dressing. As for dessert, we enjoyed our wedding cake. White cake with strawberry filling.

What kind of energy did your entertainment give the event? As a part of our wedding ceremony, my mother in law and dance team preformed a dance which was breathtaking. It was original and from the heart. Our DJ was awesome. We had a very mixed crowd and they were able to give us a little new school and little old school. They had us on the dance floor till it was time to go home. Including my daughter. She was showing us her dance moves.

If there was one thing you could change, what would it be? The evening was near perfect, but I wish I had more time to coordinate a photo booth. That would of been the final touch to a perfect evening. I love photo booths.

Tell us how you met. Was it love at first sight, blind date, friends forever? We want to know the particular! My husband was a family friend of my brothers for many years. We first met in grade school and he asked to walk me home, but was quickly shot down. Syl eventually became “my” best friend and after years and years of persistence and help from family and friends, I finally gave in and he stole my heart.

Now for the proposal… details! On Christmas day eve, after things settled down from a very fun filled day, Syl and I decided to watch a movie (He’s Just Not That Into You). After watching the part of Ben propose to Jennifer, Syl decided to reenact the proposal word for word. Of course I thought he was just kidding, as that is something he would normally do, until he pulled out the ring. I was so excited, the only emotion I had were tears of joy. I remember standing on the couch and jumping on him. Thank goodness he caught me.

We want to know about all the wedding details. Was it small and intimate or big and traditional? It was big and traditional. We had about 80 guest attend, and our wedding party was a total of 8 plus our flower girl(daughter) and groomsmen (nephew).

Tell us about your wedding gown and what your wedding party wore. I wore a gown from David’s Bridal. My wedding gown had every feature I was looking for. I wanted a pick up, with rousing through the mid section, and sweet heart cut. It was everything I had imagined. I felt like a princess. As for the bridesmaids, the gowns were from Alfred Angelo. Since I had woman of all sizes, the dresses were perfect. It fit everyone’s body shapes and sizes.

What were the honeymoon plans? We took a seven day cruise to Mexico, which stopped in Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan, and Puerto Vallarta. It was amazing! We went on a boat ride to visit the famous arch in Cabo, went kayaking in Mazatlan and swam with the dolphins in Puerto Vallarta. Great time!
