Ok, first thing’s first. This couple has got to be one of the top five best looking we’ve ever featured on the blog. I mean, come on! Aside from that detail though, this sweet pair had a lovely fall wedding. My favorite details of the day were 1. venue location — at a racetrack paddocks! and 2. the bride’s shoes — because they were glitter-city AND because of the too cute “I Do” stickers. Read on friends, there is much more!!

Tell us how you met. Was it love at first sight, blind date, friends forever? We want to know the particular!: When i was a freshman at Eastern Kentucky University I rushed for a sorority and I met this girl who became my best friend and roommate. Well me and Brianna became very very close and one day we went to eat in the lunch area and she stopped and introduced me to Chris Hull her cousin, i honestly couldn’t tell you anything about him, not what we looked like or anything, i was not even paying attention, well apparently he was. So a week or two later Bri told me that her cousin Chris had bought a puppy and he wanted to bring it over, well i definitely noticed him that day, as well as his adorable puppy Tucker. Later i found out that match maker Bri had asked him to bring the puppy over and he said, i dont know im pretty busy and Bri said Jordan wants to see it, and he said ok! Our first date was a double date with Bri and her now husband Ty who was Chris’s bestfriend since middle school, and we have been together ever since.

Can you give us an overview of the event?: Our wedding ceremony took place at 6:30 at Burington Baptist Church, the bride’s church. We decorated the church with tall flower arrangements in all the windows, and candle operas in the background. We had family members singing while guests were being seated and while we lit our unity candle. Our pastor surprised Chris and I when he asked everyone to honor and applaud Chris, who had just served in Iraq, and His brother Devin, who was currently still serving in Iraq. Chris had just returned home from a month before the wedding, and we had changed the wedding date a few times when we found out he was getting deployed. Me and the girls took pictures at a nearby bed and breakfast before the ceremony, while the boys went to an old church and park. The stalls behind the bridal party’s table were lit up in the night and the lighting was perfect. There were candles on every table, as well as all the assorted gems and jewels people had used for my showers. We had so many that we had enough to scatter them on every table!

(Continued) After the ceremony all the guest made their way to Turfway Park, a Northern Kentucky Horse Track. My family and I have horses, so this was the perfect setting. My parents even surprsied Chris and I ,at our rehearsal dinner, with a carriage ride to the restaurant where we were all eating. The reception was held in the paddock area, where they normally walk the horses around before they race. There were vintage globe street lights and a line of numbered stables in the background. We set up the guest tables on the outer circle and the bridal table in the center circle by the dance floor. We had white linens for the chairs, blue bows and blue and green iridescent shimmer overlays for each table.

Now for the proposal… details!: Chris was in ROTC at Eastern and their was a fancy dinner and ball that we were going to. Evening gowns and the Boys in their dress uniforms, it was very fancy and Chris was a senior and the seniors were going to be announced, it was a big deal and Chris’s parents were also coming. So we were all dressed up and ready and when i got in his truck to leave there were a dozen red roses that he had gotten for me. It was so sweet. Once we arrived we got out of the truck and he told me that it was tradition to take a picture is front of the building, so his parents took our picture and as i turn around to go inside Chris was on his knee holding a ring box. Of corse i said yes and his parents got it all on camera! As we went inside for our dinner, chris had planned ahead and had my name card to say “the future Mrs. Hull”. When the evening was over we went to walk outside and their was a blizzard that had fallen while we were inside and didn’t even know it. It was perfect.

What inspired the theme or style?: I wanted a country theme because I love horses and always wanted my wedding in a barn. This was even better, and I wanted a lot of sparkle and glitter and things that reminded me of Chris and I. The glitter and bling were incorporated in almost everything, Chris was in Iraq while we planned the wedding so he didn’t ask for much, he was very easy about it and just went with the flow. My bouquet was bling to the max, the whole handle sparkled, with white roses and diamonds in the center of the flowers!

What were your playful twists that made the event unique?: After our wedding ceremony me and Chris ran into down town Burlington and stopped traffic while we took at picture right in the middle of the road, under the 4-wat light. Everyone was beeping their horn, it was so much fun! I think the coloring books and flip flops were a different twist. Since I’m a hair stylist I changed my hair from the ceremony to the reception, which was also different.

Tell us about your wedding gown and what your wedding party wore.: My gown was high wasted with beaded flowers on the top and buttons all down the back with a beaded belt, and a finger tip veil. The bridesmaids wore knee length blue dresses, high wasted sweetheart tops with a strip of glitter bangles on the bottom. My flower girl Julia wore a white tea length ruffle dress. And a big white flower in her hair. The boys wore khaki suits with light blue vest to match the girls and khaki paisley ties. WIth light blue rose boutiners. The ring bearer wore a white tux with light blue vest, he was to small for a khaki suit. And Chris wore a khaki suit with a white vest and white paisley tie.

Did you DIY any of the details?: We made the programs, the horse shoes with the table numbers. We did the candy bar and the sign. Flip-flop baskets, coloring books. The chalk on the entry way. My dress and all the girls dresses had pockets made into them and so I gave each of the girls something special that reflected our friendship to carry around. My mom gave me my great grandmothers handkerchief to put in my pocket. I also put hearts on all the girls shoes and I put “I Do” on the bottom of mine. We had napkins for the cake table that said Jordan & Chris and their were very fun and we had candy bags for the candy table with hearts and the theme of the candy bar on them.

Tell us about the food and desserts.: Hand carved Roast beef au jus and honey roasted chicken, Garlic mashed potatos, fresh fruit, caesar salad, veggie medley, mac n cheese. I honestly can’t tell you about the food, I didn’t taste it because I was so excited and happy about how everything turned out, Chris and I didn’t eat but literally two or three bites and then we were off to talk to the guests at each table while everyone ate. The cake was delicious and I’m a big “cupcake person”, my family even calls me cupcake, so we had mini cupcakes and normal cupcakes. The minis were special flavors and the big cupcakes were chocolate and white. With bride and grooms decorated on the top of them.

What was the best wedding advice you received?: Take a minute to look at it all and take it all in, because it will fly by and all you’ll have is pictures. Which leads to the other, get a good photographer, because besides the memories and stories, pictures are all you have.

What were the honeymoon plans?: The next morning we were planned to leave for Playa Mujeres Resort in Mexico. The weather was perfect, sunny everyday, and warm at nights. We stayed for 5 days and cant wait to go back!
