Denver Bat Mitzvah at The Ritz Carlton by Photocraftz

When I first found out that we were featuring a CSI-themed bat mitzvah, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Birthday party meets crime scene? Not exactly your typical bash, but that’s exactly what devoted fan Lily decided to do when throwing (what must have been) the bat mitzvah of the year. Not only did she and the talented event team at WM Events pick a super cool theme, but they executed the details in the most creative ways: think tiny menu’s with magnifying glasses, secret glow-code place cards, “crime-scene” photographers and test-tube mocktails! With all of the fun captured by Photocraftz, the only real mystery is how Lily will top this awesome night!

Can you give us an overview of the event? LSI: Denver, a killer bat mitzvah based on the popular TV series CSI, transformed The Ritz Carlton into a stylish party lab washed in hot pink. Entering through a detective’s laboratory, scientific servers in custom lab coats served signature potions in test tubes. Hair & make-up artists styled suspects before instant mug – shots were taken, while a hand writing analysts gave insight into the criminal minds. Lit test tubes anchored by pink & orange florals covered the scene. Menus with microscopic text, plates dusted with the party brand and a shout out from a CSI:NY cast member made this grand larceny

What were your playful twists that made the event unique? Turning the Ritz into a science lab was a lot of fun, and inspired our minds to break free. A candy lab bar let guests create crazy, sci-fi concoctions like candy DNA and gummy brains with sour syrup (as a preservative). To find their seats, guests slid their escort card underneath a black light to see their table number number written in invisible ink. The guests were surprised to find the LSI: Denver logo sprinkled on their salad plate. The menu was printed extra small and accompanied by a special magnifying glass. The LED light wall provided a great backdrop for the entertainment as well as the special performance by the birthday girl.

What kind of energy did your entertainment give the event? The high impact party band encouraged the guests to dance all night on the gigantic white dance floor. With an awesome tech-savvy LED backdrop, the guests were wowed and energized.

What was the most memorable moment? The video shout outs from the actual cast members of CSI made the crowd go wild. Everyone loved seeing their favorite t.v. stars wish Lily a happy birthday- especially Lily!

If there was one thing you could change, what would it be? Lily wishes that she could turn 13 again!
