It’s SOOO close to October and we could not wait any long to share this amazing Halloween party with you. Once you scroll through the pictures (don’t even think about missing the entire gallery), you’ll see why we were jumping around our offices with excitement when it hit our inbox. Creative doesn’t even begin to describe the details of this party! Consider this our official kick off to Halloween! Oh, and Happy Friday too — enjoy!
Can you give us an overview of the event? I love Halloween. I wanted to host a non-traditional (orange and black) Halloween party.
I am always looking for ways to throw a great party with a small budget.
I borrowed a lot of the decorations from a good friend of mine. She is addicted to Halloween. I used some of my decor I have kept over the years as well.
Was there a specific theme or style? The theme is “Dying to Party” Halloween adult party. The style for this party is elegant, trendy, sparkly, and spooky!
What inspired the theme or style? I was at Kirklands store one day and saw these Halloween black wine glasses that say “DYING TO PARTY”. I was immediately inspired to host a party around that theme.
What were your playful twists that made the event unique? I think the theme name for this party is clever. I pictured a cemetery, skeletons, spiders, etc. I wanted to set up this party on a bar area. My focus was to entertain adults. I also wanted a non-traditional color scheme. The “Intoxicating booze bar/Choose your poison” is super creative and unique. It was set up with popular drinks! I went to this site: http://www.drinkoftheweek.com/ to find Halloween drink ideas. Here’s the list of drinks served: Scary midori sour, Kahlua cryptini, Tequila ghosts (tequila), Creepy crawly vodka and jello shots
Did you DIY any of the details? Yes, I made the “Dying to party” banner hanging on the front of the bar. I also made the silver/sparkly frame where the invite is displayed.
What was the most memorable moment? Judging all the Halloween costumes.
Tell us about the food and desserts. I searched for ideas on the internet for creative Halloween food names. This is the website where I gathered all my ideas for the food: http://www.familymanagement.com/holidays/halloween/food.drink.html I served tomato soup~”Blood soup,” Green guacamole tortilla chips, Peanut butter and jelly sandwiches rolled ~”Bone sandwiches”. I didn’t serve a lot of desserts. Most people prefer to drink and snack at Halloween parties. The desserts were custom made by my friend, Breanna from: http://www.sugardreamsaz.com. There were cookies and some green lime jelly beans in small coffins from: http://www.etsy.com/shop/KatBluStudio
What kind of energy did your entertainment give the event? Good music, Games and A Costume contest
If there was one thing you could change, what would it be? I would have added a smoke machine and darker lighting.
