Heather Vreeland is the Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of Occasions Magazine, an online & print guide for Weddings, Corporate and Social Events across Metro Atlanta. Originally from Palm Beach County, Florida, Heather graduated from Flagler College with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication where she studied Public Relations and Broadcast Journalism in St. Augustine, FL.
The former Director of Marketing and self-taught graphic designer’s expertise has evolved in a “grass-roots meets trial by fire” kind of way. Having no prior experience in publishing, but always living by the mantra whatever the mind can conceive it can achieve, she channeled her resources and googled her way into the industry in 2008 and created a modest print and online editorial resource for planning events. Her gumption and love of life’s many celebrations has catapulted the Occasions Magazine brand into one of the most respected multi-platform media companies across the special events industry and continues to grow by leaps and bounds.
Heather is an entrepreneur by heart and is in love with all things small business. She keeps a blog, aptly named “Business, bright ideas and how advertising makes the word go ‘round” where she shares those “trial by fire” experiences at www.HeatherVreeland.com.

Lisa Alexander is the Associate Publisher of Occasions Magazine. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Lisa first moved to Florida in 1987 before settling in Atlanta in 1991.
Lisa is a veteran marketing professional with over 13 years of experience in both marketing and sales. Prior to joining Occasions Magazine, Lisa was the Vice President of Plastics Marketing Inc. and oversaw the sales, customer service and accounting for the company. Her first job in the event industry was with Mike Sipe Entertainment in Florida. Acting as their bridal consultant, Lisa scheduled the wedding entertainment for couples including DJs, emcees, musicians and bands and got her first taste of the special events industry.
Lisa started working for Occasions Magazine in 2009 as a sales executive because she was inspired by Heather’s creativity and dedication to building a unique, but resourceful magazine. Lisa wanted a more hands-on role in the company and decided to make the jump into publishing to better utilize her marketing savvy and foresight. Lisa believes that choices not chances determine our destiny.
Lisa now oversees marketing and public relations for Occasions Magazine while guiding the sales staff and acting as Heather’s sounding board. The office joke is that “Oprah has Gayle and Heather has Lisa.”
Lisa’s personal goal is to enjoy life and be passionate about what she does everyday. When she isn’t working, you’ll find her spending time with her husband, Mark, stepson, Jason, and three adorable pups, Gator and Gabbie (both Maltese) and Jac (a Jack Russell).

Jennifer Taylor is the Office Manager and Online Advertising Account Executive at Occasions Magazine. She has a bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance from Florida State University.
Jennifer moved to Atlanta in 2000. For over a decade she has been in the accounting and bookkeeping field. Before joining the Occasions Magazine team, Jennifer spent five years working in accounting for Turner Broadcasting.
Besides her back office duties, Jennifer’s expertise at Occasions Magazine covers “everything that Heather needs to remember,” making her the unofficial Office Memory Manager as well.
Jennifer can usually be found spending time with her boyfriend, Chris, relaxing or shopping, of course!
